Yiqiao Li (Principal Investigator)
Yiqiao Li is an assistant professor of Civil Engineering at the City College of New York. Prior to joining CCNY in January 2024, Yiqiao worked as an Assistant Project Scientist at the Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California Irvine (ITS- Irvine). Yiqiao earned a Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Irvine in 2021. Yiqiao's research focuses on the development of advanced traffic surveillance systems through emerging technologies and the application of statistical and AI/machine learning models to obtain cutting-edge multimodal data and insights for supporting sustainable and resilient transportation systems. Yiqiao is also interested in transportation data analysis, traffic operations and safety, and intelligent transportation systems.
Bo Shang (Ph.D. Student)
Bo Shang is a PhD student in Civil Engineering (Transportation) at City College of New York. His research focuses on AI-powered traffic monitoring, LiDAR-based object detection, and the empirical analysis of transportation systems. Outside of research, he enjoys swimming and exploring NYC’s diverse food scene.
Kevin U. Villon (Undergrad Student)
Kevin Ulises Villon Belloso is a civil engineering undergrad at The City College of New York (CCNY), specializing in structural engineering. He helps develop an AI model that aims to detect and classify different types of vehicles in dense urban environments. He also helps run the ASCE student chapter at CCNY, serving as their treasure for the 2024-2025 school year. Outside of academics, Kevin enjoys playing chess and other games that challenge his problem-solving skills and strategic thinking. He also values spending quality time with his friends and family, appreciating the balance between the hard work necessary for professional growth and experiencing meaningful moments that help him stay motivated and recharged for the next challenge.
Wen Jie Long (Undergrad Student)
Wen Jie Long is a Computer Science Junior at City College of New York, primarily interested in Machine Learning and Data Analysis. His hobbies include reading and writing in his free time.
